I can’t do what you do…

Why anyone who wants to help others can coach

Missy CoachMonday nights are some of my favorites!! Say WHAT?!?
That’s because it’s my night to connect with my team of coaches. Share what I’ve learned with them and hear what they might need advice and help with. It’s a chance for us to take time as a team and come together to work toward helping others get healthy.
But you know what cracks me up? When someone looks at what I do as a coach and says, “oh, I could never do what you do”.
I’m no super woman.
I’m no professional speaker.
Shoot. I’m not even a fitness or nutrition expert.
You know what I am?
I am a woman who decided:

Someone needs to hear your story

My hero, my sister

“Only God can turn

A mess into a message

A test into a testimony

A trial into a triumph

A victim into a victory”

Have you ever gone through something that simply sucks?

When it feels like there will never be an end to the sadness and pain?

This woman. My sister. She went through HELL AND BACK a few years ago.

Honesty Check.

Are you giving it your all, or mailing it in?

if you kinda sorta try, then you kinda sorta get results

Honesty check! We’re mid-week. Are you using the time you have to its fullest potential? Or are you mailing it in?

I’m guilty of it. I can be 10 minutes into a workout and realize I’m not focusing, I’m not giving it my all. So what do I do? Do I continue that way? Do I give up? NO! I push a little harder and I do what I know I can do.

I know if I’m giving everything a “kinda sorta” effort – then I’m going to get “kinda sorta” results. I can’t expect to see a change like I want, if I’m not holding myself accountable and giving it my all. It’s not the program or process that isn’t working – it’s ME.

So here’s your tough love for the week – for you and me – are you mailing it in? Or are you giving it your all? Only you can know the answer, and it’s time to be honest. Because you are WORTH IT.

Muscle vs. Fat

My personal experience with the lying scale

The scale lies.

It’s something I have to tell myself and my clients – often. It’s just so easy to get wrapped up in that stupid number. That number that doesn’t reflect your worth. It doesn’t reflect your heart. Shoot, it doesn’t even truly reflect the hard work you’re putting in.

Here’s my lesson in muscle vs. fat. Pull up a chair, friend, it’s a good one.

Pushing Past Fear

Be Fearless

Fear is a big fat liar.

Remember that.

Fear will make you say:

*I’m not strong enough

*I can’t do that

*I don’t have the willpower

*I’m not pretty enough

*I’m not skinny enough (WTH does that even have to do with anything??)

*I don’t have the the courage

*I’m not HER

*I’m not YOU

*I don’t have the time

*I’ve NEVER been (fill in the blank)

*I’ll NEVER be (fill in the blank)

*I’ll be judged

*I’ll be teased
